Returning to the Scope Review Page After an Estimate Is Generated

How to get back to the Scope Review stage after an estimate has already been created — including the delete-to-return method and how to preserve your scope first.

Overview

When you generate an estimate from a scope, KonstructIQ moves you out of the Scope Review stage and into the Edit Estimate page. If you realize you need to change the underlying scope of work — the materials, quantities, or trades the AI used — you can get back to the Scope Review page in one of two ways, depending on whether you want to keep the estimate that was already created.

Good to know: The Scope Review page (where you refine the scope before an estimate exists) is different from the Summary Scope of Work text box on the estimate's Info tab. Editing the Summary text box only changes the summary shown to the client — it does not regenerate the estimate. To change what the estimate is actually built from, you need to return to Scope Review.

Option 1: Delete the estimate to return to Scope Review

Use this when you want to rebuild the estimate from an updated scope.

  1. Open your project and go to the Estimate.

  2. Click Options on the Edit Estimate page.

  3. Click Delete.

Once the estimate is deleted, KonstructIQ takes you back to the Scope Review page, where you can adjust the scope, materials, and quantities and then generate a fresh estimate.

⚠️ Important: Deleting the estimate removes it entirely. Any manual edits, fees, or line-item changes you made on the estimate will be lost. If you want to keep that work, use Option 2 first.

Option 2: Copy your scope from the AI Assistant first

If you don't want to lose the scope you've already built, you can copy it out of the AI Assistant before making changes:

  1. Open the AI Assistant on the Edit Estimate page.

  2. Copy the scope text from the Assistant so you have your own saved copy.

  3. You can then delete and regenerate the estimate (Option 1) and paste the scope back in, or reuse it as a starting point.

Quick Reference

Get back to Scope Review: Open the estimate → OptionsDelete → you're returned to the Scope Review page.

Keep your scope before deleting: Open the AI Assistant → copy the scope text → then delete/regenerate.

Just changing the client-facing summary? You don't need to return to Scope Review — edit the Summary Scope of Work box on the estimate's Info tab instead.
