How to Create an Estimate from Photos

  1. Navigate to the home dashboard and click the Create Estimate button.

  2. On the Create Estimate page, click Add Files

  3. In the File Upload window, click Drop or Select Files to upload your images.

    • Note: You can upload up to 20 photos (max 10MB each) or PDFs (max 50MB each).

  4. Enter details in the Scope of Work Instructions text box to provide additional context for the analysis.

  5. Click Generate Scope of Work.

  6. Review the generated Summary of Scope of Work and Detailed Scope of Work & Quantities. The system will automatically estimate dimensions, materials, and required demolition based on the visual data provided. It is important to also double check and verify that dimensions are accurate based on your own measurements if measurements aren't included in the image or any other document uploads.

  7. Once you have reviewed the details for accuracy, click Save to finalize the estimate.

Troubleshooting

  • Upload Fails: Ensure your images do not exceed the 10MB individual file limit and are in a standard format like .jpg or .png.

  • Inaccurate Dimensions: If the generated quantities (e.g., square footage) appear incorrect, use the Scope of Work Instructions field to provide specific measurements before clicking generate.

FAQs

  • Can I upload both blueprints and site photos at the same time? Yes. The system can process both construction plans and reference photos simultaneously to create a more detailed scope.

  • Does the AI recognize specific materials from the photos? Yes, the tool is designed to identify finishes such as cabinetry types, flooring materials (like terrazzo or vinyl), and appliance finishes to populate the line items. To ensure accurate recognition, be sure to double check the Scope of Work and add additional details if needed.

  • Is the generated scope editable? Absolutely. After the scope is generated, you should review and refine the descriptions and quantities to ensure they match your specific project requirements.
