Generating AI Titles and Descriptions for Project Documents

This feature uses AI to analyze the line items pulled from your estimate and automatically suggests professional, contextually relevant titles and descriptions for you.

How to Use AI Generation

Once you have populated your document with line items from an estimate, follow these steps to generate your content:

  1. Open the Document Navigate to the specific Invoice, Change Order, or Purchase Order you are drafting.

  2. Add Line Items Ensure you have imported or added the necessary line items. The AI requires this data to understand the scope of the document.

  3. Locate the Generate Button Find the Title or Description field. You will see a Generate button located immediately to the right of these fields.

  4. Generate the Content Click Generate. The AI will scan your line items and populate the field with a suggested title or a detailed summary.

  5. Review and Save Review the suggested text. You can manually edit the content if you need to add specific project nuances. Click Save or Update to finalize the document.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Troubleshooting

  • The Generate button is grayed out: Ensure you have added at least one line item to the document. The AI cannot generate a summary without source data.

  • The description is too vague: This usually happens if the line item names in your estimate are generic (e.g., "Labor" vs. "Rough-in Electrical Labor"). More descriptive line items lead to better AI results.

FAQs

  • Can I revert the text if I don't like the AI suggestion? Yes. You can manually delete the generated text or use the undo function in your browser before saving the document.

  • Does the AI change the actual pricing or quantities? No. The AI only assists with the text-based Title and Description fields; it does not modify financial data or line item values.

  • Is there a limit to how many times I can click Generate? No. You can click the button multiple times to see if the AI provides a different variation of the phrasing.
