A takeoff is the process of measuring quantities directly off a set of plans — tracing walls for linear footage, or filling an area for square footage — so the estimate prices what's actually drawn instead of an assumption. Edit Takeoff is where you do that: select a scope item and draw its measurement on the source sheet, and the quantity comes from the drawing instead of the AI's estimate.

This is the fix referenced in Confidence Scores and Verifying AI Quantities and Reviewing Your AI Scope of Work for any item whose description starts with "assumed:".

On the project's Scope tab, find an item with a low or medium confidence score, or a description that starts with "assumed:" — that's the AI telling you it didn't measure this one directly. Click the item, then click Edit Takeoff.

Select the item, then draw its area, length, or count directly on the source drawing. The quantity updates from what you drew, and the item stops being an assumption.

Once a quantity comes from a takeoff measurement instead of an assumption, it feeds the estimate the same way any scope quantity does.
